Chris's theme was 'small flies', mainly for the river but also useable on still water.
Chris showed various ways of creating segmented bodies, particularly on the wet flies, where he advised caution in the use of flashy materials. For dry flies, Chris maintains that size and shape of the silhouette are more important than absolute colour.
Note that the PT nymph, 2nd down on the left, has a holo copper tinsel flashback and is tied on a longshank curved larva hook. The beadhead below it has a pearly flashback. All of the above are on hooks size 16 or less.
Note that the photos give a greatly exaggerated impression of the size and weight of these flies.
